Sherman and Alice FRARY 1900 ~ Census Sunday

Address of Sherman and Alice FRARY in 1900 (marked by the letter A)

My second great-grandfather, Sherman FRARY, was born August 29, 1852 in Illinois to Sherman FRARY (1824-1867) and Charlotte Marinda SCOGGINS (b. 1826).  He died February 21, 1915 in Fort Scott, Kansas.

My second great-grandmother, Alice Evelyn McMillan, was born in October 1856 in Illinois and died July 6, 1934 in  Kansas City, Missouri.  I have not found anything until the 1880 Census where she is shown living with and married to Sherman.  Thankfully, records about her are rather consistent from then on.

Below is what can be found in the 1900 Census for this couple and their family.  Please note that the typed version found at Ancestry.com says that their surname was FRACY, but it is definitely FRARY and actually looks like it if you are not having to “guess” what it is supposed to say.  There are several records throughout the years that prove that it is indeed FRARY.
